We started Lamaze Classes today. Our instructor is Janis Bush and we’re taking it at Castle Medical Hospital, although she does teach on her own and also at Queens but Castle is the one that had sundays and that worked with our schedule so we went with that. I read about Janis on hawaii momslikeme forums back when I got pregnant the first time and I knew I wanted to go see her. Little did I know that my co-worker Nicole and also Pia went to see her when they were pregnant and they gave birth naturally! They said they couldn’t do it without taking her class so I have hope! They say she’s crazy and she kind of is (haha) but it makes the class a little more interseting. If possible I really want to try to give naturally without any drugs.
Today’s class was a bit awkward. The daddies to be had to talk about a sunset or a sunrise for a complete minute and try to calm the mommies to be down and put them in a relaxing state but since it was our first time it was just a lot of laughter and I tried so hard not to laugh but it was weird. She asked us again to do it a second time for another minute and we were better the second time around. Really hope this class helps me!
